How big is the raise?
Suno has raised more than $400 million in a Series D led by Bond Capital, at a $5.4 billion post-money valuation, more than double the $2.45bn it was worth in November 2025. CEO Mikey Shulman told Bloomberg the money lets the company “take some bigger swings.” The firm passed two million paying subscribers in February and says it was on pace for around $300m in annual revenue.
Why should house producers care?
Dance music is producer-led and sample-built, which makes it unusually exposed to generative tools. The value of a recorded catalogue as AI training data is being priced right now, Warner Music Group settled in November 2025, while Universal Music Group and Sony Music are still litigating, and have moved to add more than 61,000 recordings to their case.
The tension
A $5.4bn valuation for a company being sued by the majors it may ultimately need to license from tells you investors expect a deal, not a defeat. The people not in that negotiation are the independent producers whose work may sit in the training set.
