What is actually opening?
Pacha New York is the Ibiza brand's first New York room in more than a decade, built on the Bushwick lot at 140 Stewart Avenue where the Brooklyn Mirage used to stand. It pairs an open-air main floor under a towering curved LED screen with the indoor Brooklyn Hall, and it is run by FIVE Holdings, the Dubai-based group led by Kabir Mulchandani that owns Pacha worldwide.
Why does the Mirage's ghost matter?
The Mirage canceled its 2025 season when the city's Department of Buildings refused to sign off and the renovation was judged structurally unsafe. The structure came down, and operator Avant Gardner's finances unraveled. Pacha's pitch is the inverse: clear the paperwork before anyone walks in.
"We did not want to take any of those risks, so we de-risked it, reduced capacity."
That is why the combined number is 8,145 rather than the Mirage's bigger room. The Temporary Place of Assembly was approved on June 1 and runs through August 30, the Certificate of Occupancy is signed, and a conditional liquor license cleared after a two-hour State Liquor Authority hearing.
Who plays the opening?
The soft launch comes first. Unlocked, on June 13, is an open-air house night curated by Rampa of Keinemusik, with six back-to-back sets featuring Danny Tenaglia, Joe Claussell and Francois K. Unblocked, on June 14, turns the room into a New York block party. Then the marquee weekend: Michael Bibi on June 20 and Black Coffee on June 21.
