AlphaTheta has cut the CDJ-3000X down to a compact, 1,599-dollar player with cloud libraries, Beatport and TIDAL streaming, and a new feature that lets the crowd request tracks from their phones.
AlphaTheta, the company behind Pioneer DJ and the CDJ, has acquired DJ Monitor's track-identification technology and folded it into KUVO, its long-running push to pay producers when their records get played in clubs.
AlphaTheta cut its flagship V10 down to a 3-channel, 4-band mixer with no Beat FX and no crossfader, priced at 1,999 euros, aimed squarely at the layering tech-house and techno DJ who never touched those features anyway.
